Over 17% of Botswana consists of game reserves and national parks with an additional 20% set aside as wildlife management areas (WMAs). With some of the best wildlife viewing in Africa, Botswana has become one of the most popular destinations for tourists seeking wildlife in their natural habitat.
Most of the national parks are unfenced allowing animals to move freely throughout the wider game management areas.
